Save The Bees!

Bees are some of the most important creatures on Earth. They carry pollen between flowers, which helps create new plants. But bees are in danger!

Why Bees Are in Trouble

Not enough food

Bees rely on flowers for food. But humans have removed many of bees’ favorite flowers to build roads, farms, and buildings.

Not enough nesting sites

Bees like to build their nests in the ground or in old, hollow wood. But humans have cleared away many large natural areas filled with trees and flowers.

Dangerous chemicals

Farmers use chemicals to help their crops grow. But these chemicals can be deadly to bees.

How You Can Help

Plant Flowers.

Bees especially love snacking on lavender and bluebells.

Build a “nest box.”

Bees can cozy up in there. (Research instructions online and get help from an adult!)

Research a group.

Bee groups organize activities and encourage farmers to stop using harmful chemicals.

Think and Write

Imagine your town is starting a bee rescue committee. Using details from the infographic, write a letter to the committee suggesting how it can help bees in your community.
